Quality Control

Quality Assurance

Delivering Quality You Can Trust.

At Mayraj Pipes, every HDPE and MS Pipe undergoes rigorous quality inspection and testing throughout the manufacturing process to ensure consistent performance and reliability. Our quality control procedures are aligned with applicable ISO standards and industry guidelines. Raw materials are thoroughly inspected before production, followed by continuous monitoring of dimensional accuracy, wall thickness, and surface finish. HDPE pipes are tested for pressure resistance, density, and impact strength, while MS pipes undergo weld integrity, dimensional, and mechanical strength evaluations. Advanced testing equipment and strict quality protocols help us maintain high manufacturing standards and product consistency. Each batch is verified before dispatch to ensure customers receive durable, safe, and dependable piping solutions for their projects.

Every MS Spiral Welded Pipe undergoes rigorous non-destructive, mechanical, and dimensional testing to ensure superior strength, weld quality

Non-Destructive Testing

Ultrasonic Testing (UT)

Precise inspection using advanced digital flaw detectors to identify internal and sub-surface anomalies in the weld seam and base metal, ensuring 100% volumetric soundness of the pipes.

Radiography Testing (RT)

Digital or conventional X-ray inspection applied to the weld seam. This method accurately detects internal volumetric defects such as porosity, slag inclusions, or lack of penetration with high-resolution imaging.

Liquid Penetrant Test (LPT)

Carried out using highly sensitive dye penetrant kits to rapidly detect any surface-breaking flaws, hairline cracks, or surface porosity in the weld area and pipe body.

Mechanical Testing

Tensile Test (UTM)

Conducted on a computerized Universal Testing Machine (UTM) to evaluate critical mechanical properties. This tests Yield Strength, Ultimate Tensile Strength, and Percentage of Elongation to ensure the steel meets rigorous industry standards like IS 3589 and IS 5504.

Guided Bend Test

Bend testing (Root and Face bend) is performed to evaluate the ductility and structural soundness of the welded joint. It ensures that the weld can withstand severe bending stress without cracking or failing.

Chemical & Pressure Testing

Hydrostatic Test

Every tubular product is pressurized with water at calculated test pressures on a Hydro-Tester bench. This critical test guarantees the leak-tightness and overall pressure-bearing capacity of the weld and pipe body before dispatch.

Chemical Analysis

To ensure the highest level of accuracy and impartiality, full chemical composition analysis of raw materials and weld metals is outsourced to accredited, certified external laboratories. This rigorous independent testing verifies the exact percentage of critical elements, guaranteeing strict compliance with industry material specifications.Visual & Dimensional Checking

Visual & Dimensional Inspection

Visual & Dimensional Inspection

Comprehensive physical inspection of pipes for surface imperfections and dimensional accuracy. Parameters like Outside Diameter (OD), Wall Thickness, Ovality, and Straightness are verified using calibrated micrometres, vernier callipers, and ultrasonic thickness gauges to comply with IS 5504 and other manufacturing tolerances.

Every HDPE pipe is thoroughly tested for pressure resistance, material quality, dimensional accuracy, and long-term performance

Hydrostatic Test

Verifies pressure-bearing capacity and leak-proof performance under high internal water pressure.

Oxidation Induction Time (OIT)

Measures resistance to thermal oxidation for long-term durability.

Reversion Test

Confirms dimensional stability after exposure to elevated temperatures.

Carbon Black Dispersion Test

Ensures uniform carbon black distribution for UV resistance and durability.

Tensile & Elongation Test

Measures tensile strength and flexibility under mechanical stress.

Carbon Black Content (CBC) Test

Verifies carbon black percentage for effective UV protection.

Density Test

Confirms material density and the use of premium virgin HDPE raw material.

Melt Flow Index (MFI) Test

Evaluates material flow properties for consistent manufacturing quality.
